Boys and Girls Club of Easton - New Program For Teens

The Boys & Girls Club of Easton will be conducting "Money Matters: Make It Count" for teens, a practical money management program developed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America in collaboration with the Charles Schwab Foundation. The program is open to all teens 13-18 years of age.

According to Dean Young, Club Executive Director, "Money Matters promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills."
 
Teen participants learn how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. They also learn about starting small businesses and paying for college. Money Matters features three components: a finance booklet, access to a Money Matters web site and guidance from individuals such as Frank Pintabone who is overseeing the Money Matters Program with the help of volunteer mentors. 
 
Money Matters introduction workshops will be held at The Boys & Girls Club of Easton, 120 Jones Houston Way, on Easton's South Side, commencing Wednesday, January 25th, 2012, at 4:00pm, and held on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 4:00pm, each week.

The topics for Money Matters is as follows:

Session 1: Understanding Your Money
Session 2: Spending Wisely & Using Credit
Session 3: Saving & Investing
