Donuts for Dads

Donuts for DadsFriday October 5, 239 children and their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and male guardians attended ‘Donuts for Dads’ at Lincoln Elementary, a COMPASS Community School. Guests were treated to donuts from Egypt Star Bakery served by Lincoln Elementary teachers and staff members. After the powdered sugar dust settled, Lisa Regan, Community School Coordinator, shared ways in which male role models are currently involved at Lincoln including leading after school programs and reading with students in their Breakfast Club. Dads were invited to sign up as D.A.Ds (Dads Against Danger) to help protect Lincoln's Safety Patrol students from aggressive drivers.

The purpose of the ‘Donuts for Dads’ event and the others in the family engagement series (‘Goodies for Grandparents’ and ‘Muffins for Moms’) at Lincoln Elementary is to provide an opportunity for children to have a special moment with their guest and to encourage families to feel comfortable coming to their child’s school.
