SMMS Student Named Kent Cooke Scholar
Congratulations to Mardochee Dade, 8th grade South Mountain Middle School student. Mardochee has been selected as a
2011 Jack Kent Cooke Young Scholar. Mardochee was one of 50 selected from over 1,000 candidates across the country chosen because of his grades, extracurricular pursuits, teacher recommendations, application and financial need.
Mardochee enjoys helping others and hopes to become a doctor after attending an Ivy League College. He is also a cello player, and plays with the city orchestra. Mardochee will receive academic advising, financial support and scholarships for enrichment opportunities in order to develop his gifts and talents as he progresses through his academic career. With the Cooke Foundations’ support and guidance, Mardochee hopes to participate in the National Cello Institute in California and also participate in the Stanford Medical Youth Science Program.
South Mountain Middle School is a
COMPASS Community School.
