Women's Leadership Initiative Celebrates 10th Anniversary

In commemoration of its 10th anniversary, the Women’s Leadership Initiative (WLI) of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV) has a number of special events planned in 2012. Be sure to save the date for the following events:

Women’s Leadership Initiative
Women’s Leadership Initiative is a donor group supporting the community goals of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV), by improving the lives of women and children through philanthropy, advocacy, and volunteerism. Their mission is to mobilize women to become powerful leaders, and to recognize them for their efforts. WLI’s mission is accomplished through the funding of projects to improve lives through educational opportunities for those most at risk in our community. Some of the signature projects of WLI include providing scholarships to women studying in the fields of health and human services, funding classes for women working in early childhood education (to earn an associates or bachelor degree), and funding literacy-based after-school programs for at-risk children at Central Elementary School. Click here to learn more about Women’s Leadership Initiative and how you can get involved.
