The Lehigh Valley Alliance on Aging is a multi-partner initiative run by United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley that advances model solutions to community problems affecting older adults.

Rather than funding programs in the current system, the Lehigh Valley Alliance on Aging brings together non-profit, for profit, government and community advocates to work together to create SYSTEMS-LEVEL change. By fostering collaboration and supporting innovative best practice strategies, we improve lives by changing the very way supports are delivered.

Mission

The Alliance's mission is to advance community strategies designed to ensure that comprehensive long-term care and supportive service systems meet the existing and emerging needs of all older adults in our community. Its goals are to:
  • Mobilize the Lehigh Valley Region for the purpose of making the emerging issues, preferences, and options/opportunities for our older adult population a public priority for planning and investment.
  • Develop a comprehensive, regional, long-range plan for improving the organization, access, and delivery of long-term care and supportive services for older adults.
  • Develop a regional networking, data collection/dissemination, and information sharing system for improving communication and resource development to be used by consumers, service providers and community planning organizations.
