Building a Better Community  |  Allentown Promise Neighborhood

Allentown Promise Neighborhood Logo
In May of 2007, Geoffrey Canada, founder of the Harlem Children’s Zone in New York, challenged the Lehigh Valley community to give every child the tools they need to succeed. Canada’s advice? Begin working in one small area and grow the successes.

If the Lehigh Valley is truly committed to changing the lives of inner-city kids, then schools, families and neighborhoods must also change in order to achieve our goal of strong families and vital neighborhoods.
