Healthy Aging

What we do for Seniors

Families and the community benefit when seniors are able to stay safely in their own homes.

Why our mission matters

  • 28,000 seniors in Lehigh and Northampton Counties have difficulties meeting their own basic care needs.
  • The population of 65+ has increased by 10% over the past 4 years - from 99,000 seniors to 109,000.

How we improve the health and safety of seniors

United Way founded the Alliance on Aging – the number one collective impact model for healthy aging in the country.

United Way Keeping Seniors Healthy and Safe in their Homes

Volunteers provide help for every day tasks such as transportation and grocery shopping in order to insure seniors can live safely at home.
Project Helped me by Providing Food I can Choose Myself "For over two years, Project has helped me by providing food that I can choose myself. They even pay special attention to better nutrition and special diets! When reading small print became quite difficult, Project helped me get a vision exam and new glasses and now I can read perfectly!" – Bruce Ehly
