BASD Jeans Days

Dress Down. Give Back. Build Community.

Join Superintendent Dr. Lajara and your fellow Bethlehem Area School District colleagues in supporting United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley’s Community Building Fund.

For a donation of $5 (per Friday), employees may wear jeans on Fridays throughout the school year and strengthen our schools and the communities they serve. Every contribution helps students, families and the broader BASD community to shine bright for opportunity.

Please Note:

  • This is a change from previous years. Jeans were permitted one Friday per month in previous years; beginning this school year, jeans will be permitted each Friday.
  • Jeans worn on Fridays should be professional, business-casual jeans that are clean, neat and appropriate for the workplace. Jeans with excessive rips, tears or distressing are not appropriate.
  • Employees should use professional judgment when determining appropriate attire based on their responsibilities and scheduled activities.
  • This special event is separate from your annual United Way campaign gift.
  • Donations may be made via credit card through this portal.
  • Or, if you prefer to pay by cash, please give your donation directly to your school’s main office. The school will coordinate directly with United Way representatives to arrange for the collection of cash donations on a monthly basis.
  • Payroll deduction is not available for Jeans Day contributions.

Thank you for helping create a community where every person belongs and every person thrives – one Friday at a time!
