Building a community of readers to make the Lehigh Valley a place of opportunity for all

Third grade is that pivotal moment when children transition from learning how to read, to reading to learn. 

Through Lehigh Valley Reads, hundreds of community partners have come together to ensure all Lehigh Valley students read on grade level by the end of third grade, by 2025.

Approaching the goal from multiple angles, Lehigh Valley Reads has six key focus areas: early childhood education, summer learning, school attendance, trauma-informed classrooms, community schools and literacy supports. To learn more, view this video or visit www.lehighvalleyreads.org.

Lehigh Valley Reads harnesses the collective power of several successful coalitions such as the Lehigh Valley Summer Learning Coalition, Early Childhood Coalition, Resilient Lehigh Valley, Community Schools Network and the Challenge 5 Attendance Coalition.
