Community Raises over $41,000 to Help Allentown Families Recover After Devastating Fire
In less than two weeks, our community came together to raise over $41,000 to support the 14 families impacted by the devastating fire in Allentown at the end of June.
Since the fund was established, United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley has remained connected with every affected family, providing support for immediate needs including hotel stays, food and essential resources. Additional funds will be distributed this week to continue supporting families as they navigate recovery.
This impact is possible because of the incredible network of partners who have stepped up alongside us, including American Bank, The Waterfront, Capital Blue Cross, Catholic Charities, Casa Guadalupe Center, Second Harvest Food Bank of the Lehigh Valley and Northeast Pennsylvania, Fine Feather Foundation Inc., Promise Neighborhoods of the Lehigh Valley, West End Pub Bar & Grill, Champion Center, Resurrected Community Development Corporation, Kellyn Foundation and Cay Galgon Life House.
Thank you to everyone who has donated, partnered with us and helped care for our neighbors during this difficult time. Your generosity continues to provide stability and support for families as they begin the long process of recovery.
Donations can still be made online at www.unitedwayglv.org/donate (select “Fire Fund”) or via mail (checks payable to UWGLV, 1110 American Parkway NE, Suite F-120, Allentown, PA 18109 – attention “Allentown Fire Fund”). Gift card donations are also encouraged.
