Dr. Matt Green is the Senior Vice President of Integrated Planning & Advisory Services at TRC Corporation, where he leads the firm’s efforts to support utilities and energy stakeholders with forward-looking, system-level strategies. He oversees a multidisciplinary practice that integrates regulatory strategy, utility planning and grid modernization with deep technical expertise and strategic advisory services. His team helps clients address complex energy challenges across asset planning, regulatory and compliance strategy and industry transformation—delivering practical, scalable solutions shaped by digital innovation and evolving policy priorities.

With more than 20 years of experience spanning engineering, operations, IT and corporate strategy, Green has led large-scale capital programs, spearheaded grid transformation initiatives and deployed digitally enabled solutions that improve asset utilization, workforce efficiency and sustainability. Prior to joining TRC, he served as Chief Information Officer at PPL, where he was responsible for overseeing digital strategy and IT operations for one of the nation’s largest electric delivery businesses.

During his nearly two-decade tenure at PPL, Green also served as the head of Strategy & Development, where he led long-term planning efforts focused on emerging technologies and regulatory shifts. Earlier in his career at PPL, he held various leadership roles in engineering, operations and planning, and was instrumental in the company’s early deployment of smart grid systems, supported in part by a U.S. Department of Energy grant. His efforts were critical in positioning PPL as a national leader in grid modernization and resilience.

He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, an MBA from Lehigh University and a Ph.D. in systems engineering from George Washington University.

Green serves on several boards, including United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, the Allentown Economic Development Corporation and Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network.
