What We do in emergency situations
Why our mission matters
Natural disasters, job loss, loss of a loved one, illness, accidents, disabilities, family problems, victimization and the problems of growing up and growing old know no boundaries. People from all backgrounds benefit from services provided by United Way partner agencies.
A natural disaster can strike at any time.
There is an unmet demand for shelter capacity, including homelessness and domestic violence.
Elder abuse cases and child neglect have increased.
How
Emergency Services has a set funded level to ensure vital services are available to the community. United Way invests in disaster response and relief services, emergency housing such as shelters, and violence and crisis intervention support.
