Emergency Services

What We do in emergency situations

Why our mission matters

Natural disasters, job loss, loss of a loved one, illness, accidents, disabilities, family problems, victimization and the problems of growing up and growing old know no boundaries. People from all backgrounds benefit from services provided by United Way partner agencies.
  • A natural disaster can strike at any time.
  • There is an unmet demand for shelter capacity, including homelessness and domestic violence.
  • Elder abuse cases and child neglect have increased.

Emergency Services has a set funded level to ensure vital services are available to the community. United Way invests in disaster response and relief services, emergency housing such as shelters, and violence and crisis intervention support.

United Way Emergency Services

Emergency Services as a whole are invaluable to this community for those individuals who either find themselves falling between the cracks, running out of options, no other place to go or seek support.
Emerging Leaders believe we can make a difference by working together “I joined the Emerging Leaders because I believe that giving back is one of the most important things that everyone should do for their communities.  I am still young and feel that now is the time to start giving back, volunteering, and donating to the non-profits that matter most to me.  No matter how old you are, how much money you make, or where you are in life, everyone should try to help others.  The Emerging Leaders is a group of like-minded young professionals who believe that we can make a difference by working together.” – Katie Wallace
