United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley (UWGLV), with funding from PPL Corp., is pleased to announce a 3-year media partnership agreement with ASR Media Productions/The PEAK TV. The timing couldn’t be better with ASR Media just securing a national contract with Doctor Television Channel (DrTV) which translates to more exposure for Valley non-profits who are funded by United Way.
The collaboration will showcase UWGLV’s program investments and the impact they are making in the lives of over 60,000 people in the Lehigh Valley. A three-minute video, produced by ASR Media, will feature people whose lives are directly changed through United Way-funded programs. A follow up, in-studio interview with the Partner Agency Executive Director or community volunteer will delve deeper into the benefits of the program; both segments will air on The PEAK TV. The PEAK TV is seen locally every Sunday on WFMZ and viewed by a national audience on DrTV.
The alliance between PPL Corp., UWGLV and The PEAK TV has been facilitated through the keen vision of Paul Farr, PPL’s Executive Vice President and CFO, who is serving as this year’s United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley Campaign Chairman. When asked about why is video important to tell the United Way story, Farr stated, “We want the Valley to be a vibrant, inclusive community that creates opportunity for everyone, a community that actively cares for those in need.” Farr added, “United Way has a very effective model that identifies the needs of our community and is capable of supporting those needs. I’ve been touched by so many stories from people whose lives are better because of United Way and we wanted to support a medium that captures those powerful stories.”
UWGLV President, David Lewis, commented, “PPL is a great example of a corporation that is very involved in their community. Paul and PPL immediately understood the benefit of using video to explore and share the narratives of children, families and older adults that are touched by United Way programs every day.”
The PEAK TV will feature stories to a wide audience that detail the success of UWGLV programs and illustrate the care and assistance that UWGLV provides. UWGLV will further utilize the videos created to assist with their annual campaign and to better communicate their efforts in the community.
